About Katherine Bennett
Katherine Bennett is the author of the Heartland to Hometown Mysteries, a traditional mystery series featuring journalist Leni Spencer and the friends, family, and occasional dead bodies that complicate her life in the fictional Missouri town of Hawkinston.
Bennett came to mystery writing after a lifetime of collecting experiences—and careers. She has been a teacher, journalist, stained-glass artist and shop owner, book publisher, executive recruiter, charter-flight coordinator, and nonprofit leader. Along the way, she has traveled widely, pursued a longstanding interest in genealogy and history, and accumulated an ample supply of people, places, and peculiar circumstances to draw upon in her fiction.
Her mysteries often reach beyond their Missouri setting into the past and across borders, blending contemporary investigations with family history, old secrets, and the unexpected consequences of events long forgotten.
Bennett now lives in Naperville, Illinois, where she continues to write the Heartland to Hometown Mysteries. The fourth book in the series, The Clue in the Window, takes Leni from Missouri to the Czech Republic in pursuit of the story behind a mysterious stained-glass window—and a secret buried for seventy years.
